Hayley Mark, PhD. MPH, RN, is an Associate Professor at the Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing and Director of the Baccalaureate program. She most recently led a school-wide task force to address the baccalaureate curriculum and is the co-chair of the committee to implement the outcomes. Her areas of scholarly interest include sexually transmitted disease prevention; stigma; herpes simplex viruses; risk behavior; psychosocial and behavioral impact of disease. Her work in both curriculum and research has been published in peer-reviewed journals.
Janet Landeen, PhD, RN, is an Associate Professor in the School of Nursing at McMaster University. She was the Assistant Dean of the Undergraduate Nursing Education Program from 2004 to 2012, being responsible for the implementation of a curriculum renewal process. Her research interests have concentrated on living with serious mental illness including the importance of hope and on best practices in nursing education. She has published 24 peerreviewed journal articles and three book chapters and has given over 75 presentations.
COMPETENCY BASED MODEL IN NURSING EDUCATION
Judy Honig, EdD, DNP, CPNP-PC is Associate Dean and Dorothy M.
Rogers Professor of Nursing at Columbia University School of Nursing. She has actively participated in the advancement of nursing education and shaping the Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree. Dr. Honig has served as consultant to schools that are in program development and schools that are seeking to align their program with national competencies and to revisit their capstone requirements. She also serves as member of the New York State Action Coalition for Doctoral Education which is implementing the recommendations of the IOM Future of Nursing. She has contributed to advanced practice education for the past 30 years with a commitment to academic integrity and clinical scholarship, challenging the boundaries and promoting quality in advance practice nursing programs.
